The first Whinchat was present today in the company of 6 Wheatears. An afternoon visit in the fog meant that most migrant numbers were down from yesterday, but of note were 30 Common Whitethroats, Lesser Whitethroat, 5 Willow Warblers, Blackcap, Reed Warbler, 4 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Cuckoos, 8 Swallows, 2 Sand Martins and 2 Marsh Harriers. A late Goosander, no doubt disorientated by the fog, flew SSW inland. |
