A lot of passerine action around Westgate Wood: Meadow Pipit - 2 calling, rising and falling Skylark - 3 calling Great Tit - 2 pairs Blue Tit - 4 Whitethroat - 3 Goldfinch - 2 Swallow - 10 swooping around the area House Martin - 1 with Swallows Blackbird - 6 Starling - 3 in wood, 4 in farmland opposite, over the small drain. Woodpigeon - 5 in Wood, more getting spooked by bird scarer Pair of Great Crested Grebe on the South Forty Foot, with 3 Tufted Ducks. Usual Mallard, Coot, Mute Swan etc... |
