Boultham Mere (12.6.14): Whitethroat, Blackcap(2), Sedge Warbler, Great Tit(2), Blue Tit(2), Goldfinch, Crow, Jackdaw, Blackbird(2), Wren, Log tailed Tit, Pair of Mute Swans with cygnets - don't go too close! I did accidentally and got a loud hiss!, Pair of Great Crested Grebes displaying, Tufted Duck(8), Mallard(4), Coot(30), Black headed Gull (18+). Audible only: Willow Warbler, Chaffinch, Robin, Great Spotted Woodpecker. Incidentally, everyone will know about the proposed housing development at Swanpool but does anyone know how near to Boultham Mere it is proposed to go? There is a need for a substantial buffer zone I would suggest. |
