Post subject: | Thorpe Culvert an unexpected surprise |
An isolated wheat field where the headland has been flooded for several months and with the crop dead in that area and the soil still very wet with deep water filled ruts left by heavy machinery. I suspect that the drainage has completely collapsed and they have decided to leave remedial matters until the rest of the crop has been harvested later in the year. Shelduck 2 Avocet 4 are they breeding? Common Sandpiper 1 presumably a non breeding bird now that we are approaching the end of June! What else did I miss as we passed this location on the train at 50mph! |
