After two weeks away in the Baltic I had a short walk around the cow fields this evening which produced:- 1 Spotted Flycatcher 1, or possibly 2, Redstarts 1 Lesser Whitethroat 1 Chiffchaff 1 Yellow Wagtail. |

At least 5 Spotted Flycatchers in cow field hedges this afternoon. Also:- 1 Lesser Whitethroat 1 Whitethroat 1 Chiffchaff (singing) 2 Yellow Wagtails in field 1 Swift over 2 Buzzards circling |

Where abouts are said cow field hedges exactly .......swanpool is a big area.....a ny chance of a grid ref cheers danny |

Early morning round cow fields:- 1 Spotted Flycatcher 2 Blackcaps 2 Whitethroats 6 Yellow Wagtails |

In cold and wet conditions this afternoon the only migrant seen was a single Redstart. 4 Lapwings which flew in to the cow field were notable. |

Just had another walk round cow fields and now 2 Redstarts present, a cracking adult male being new. |

Mid morning/ 2 Redstart /4 Spot fly/ and one Lesser Whitethroat still present. Boultham mere A juv Marsh Harrier made several unsuccessful swoops at the ducks on the water, first M H at the mere for me this year. Also/ Hobby Teal 8 Shoveler 5 Gadwall 30+ Heron 2 Cormorant 4 Mute Swan 2 + 5 young Kingfisher Lesser B B Gull 2 Green Woodpecker 1 Pete |
