An early morning high tide watch found the pectoral parading in front of the reservoir screen very obligingly and contrasting itself with a few dunlin. 8 sandwich terns dropped in with a dozen greenshank and the same number of spotted redshanks and 1 little stint. The main lagoon had a good number of oyster catcher , Bl t godwit and a sprinkling of turnstone and knot adding some nice colour. Out to sea were plenty of gannets passing by with a few scoter and on the saltmarsh a sprinkling of whimbrel. It was a shall I, shan't I sort of morning and as usual the birds made me glad I did!

Interesting that the Pectoral Sandpiper was still there early morning as, at 1.40 pm, there was a report of one at Frampton. Are there two birds or is the one commuting between the reserves?
