Good numbers of waders over high tide this am with minimum counts as follows:

20,000 Knot, 400 each of Sanderling & Dunlin, 100 Ringed Plover, 50 Grey Plover, 10 Black T Godwit, 10 Turnstone, 1 Whimbrel and 2 Oycs.

Not so many birds on the fresh water:

100 Black T Godwit on Croftmarsh, 10 Greenshank, 1 Curlew Sand on Fenland Lagoon, a few Curlew in the fields, 20 Avocet, plus 1 Kingfisher, 1 Spoonbill and 2 Pintail on Jacksons.

Plantation:

Treecreeper, Spotted and Pied Flycatcher, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff. Missed the Wood Warbler!

Elsewhere - Wryneck by Wash Viewpoint, 1 Wheatear on the beach, juvenile Marsh Harrier over Jacksons, 8 Swift heading south and a Peregrine beating up the flock of Knot as they headed out of the roost to feed in the Wash.

Cheers,

David Cohen
