'Apologies if posted on wrong forum'

Thankfully! 'Linc's Bird News' posted via the LBC forum is also put out on Twitter, by I assume our hard working moderators.

Yet i noted recently that 3/4 RBFlys. found on Linc's Coast & reported via Twitter between 13th-15th Sept. were not! however posted on the 'LBC Sightings Pages' for members not using smart phones/twitter to view!

Can anyone enlighten a thick Notts./Linc's birder why not please?

I mentioned this some time ago, I personally can't be doing with endless tw.tter or faceburk reports on my phone or loads of emails that I don't want. I just like checking this site to try and keep up. You're not thick but like me probably getting left behind.

For those that don't want or can't get Twitter on their phone, they can view the Twitter messages on the Lincolnshire Bird Club Home page.
There are links to the homepage from the forum pages.

Thanks for "not thick comment" ;-)
I'm actually on and dearly love using Twitter.

IMHO It's the only thing to use when in the field. As it enables birders to use their phone to both send and receive all and any bird news they might want too.

Reason: One can pick & chose how much, what news & who you receive it from. So you only get info. YOU! chose to receive.
If birders don't use instant social media, they will as you suggest get left behind.

The reason I asked about bird news via Twitter not being added to Forum. Is that when at home I'm using my PC and really would appreciate the Twitter reports all in one place on the same page with all other bird news. ie: On the 'Rare l Bird News' page! Not from a 'Twitter Link'!!

Any chance Mr. Moderator. Please!!!!!!!!!! ;-) ;-)

Another school of thought - why should anyone feel compelled to report in any form (other than to the County Bird Recorder) any birds, rare or otherwise, they find. This way, the dying art of going out into the field and finding birds yourself (admirably shown by Steve Lorand etc. on the Forum) may be resurrected.

Hi Stuart.
I can't agree with that other school of thought mate.
I very much doubt if lazy birders would become active, just because they can't get rare bird location info. Do you?
Only recently several active Notts. birders spent a few days on the Linc's coast mainly due to those very reports you mention. They turned stuff up & reported it. One found his own RBFly. at Rimac.
