Whilst preparing her breakfast this morning, Linda glanced out of the kitchen window and saw a Spotted Flycatcher in our weeping willow tree. In the 43 years that we have lived in this house this is the first garden record of this species. I moved to a different window for a better view and also saw a Chiffchaff. It dropped down onto the lawn and then flew up into a pear tree. Interestingly, it was carrying a food item in its bill. Surely they are not still breeding?
