Southerly passage of Pink-footed Geese was the main feature at the south end this morning with 610 birds in 8 skeins up until 1215. 345 Brent Geese also flew south over the mudflats and an Arctic Skua passed south at sea. A Common Buzzard and 3 Sparrowhawks were seen, one of the latter coming in from the sea and on the outmarsh were 3 Twite, a White Wagtail and a Wheatear. Migrants on the dunes seemed fewer in the strong and buffeting wind, the best being 2 Stonechats and 23 Redwings. Light visible passage to the south involved mainly Greenfinches, Goldfinches and Meadow Pipits, but also included 3 Crossbills.
