Sunday 9th Nov late afternoon Fantastic murmuration of Starlings over the Trent next to Knaith Hall - probably several thousand birds wheeling around from 4.00pm finally going in to roost at 4.38pm in willow scrub on the marsh across the Trent from the hall. Great views from the Lincolnshire side of the Trent - single Sparrowhawk had a go at them a couple of times unsuccessfully. Also many Wigeon, single Barn owl and Kingfisher. Nature at its best and free too!! Ian Birch |

Also a fantastic show from the Starlings at RSPB Langford Lowfields at similar times this afternoon to those at Knaith. Earlier large skeins of Greylag were displaying and we also saw a Sparrowhawk, a Buzzard, a male Blackcap, a flock of mixed Tits and at least 10 Yellowhammers. At about 14.05 we also saw a Clouded Yellow butterfly on ragwort. A great afternoon. Cheers Colin & Joyce |
