A solitary Grey Wagtail has returned to my garden here on Doddington Park in Lincoln. Unusual in itself as it is here ahead of its normal time . This is the third year in succession that a grey wag has taken up local residency. The previous dates of arrival and departure are as follows ;-

27th December 2012 to 26th February 2013
29th December 2013 to 3rd March 2014

Is it the same bird ! if so is it tempted by the dried mealworms provided on site .

Sunday 23rd Nov.

I had a suprise this morning when entering the farmyard at Hemingby to be greeted by a Grey Wagtail flying up from the wet and muddy ground to alight on a 5 bar gate to allow a good view. A Sparrow hawk also around. And finally, I saw my first Fieldfare of the autumn at last on Saturday but only a singleton!
