22/12/2014 at about 1.30pm 10+ LTT on my feeders great day love to see these guys. However over the last few days we have had a visiting juv. Merlin who does not seem to be very successful at hunting spends a lot time sitting on wires and on the telegraph pole outside my gate. When he goes after a bird he seems to lack the final strike. 27/12/2014 Merlin still about along with a pair of Egrets. The Merlin has been around my neighbours who pointed the bird out saying hadn't seen a Thrush as big as that before. 08/02/2015 We were worried about the Merlin hadn't seen him about until this afternoon sitting on top of the telegraph pole by my gate. Looks in good fettle. |
