Grainthorpe Marsh area pm:

1 Pale-bellied Brent Goose over (the Brents remained mostly far out on the mudflats)
2 Peregrine
2 Merlin
1 Common Buzzard
126 Fieldfare
3 Lapland Bunting

There appears to be a distinct lack of Hen Harriers along the Lincs coastal strip so far this winter, looking at Birdguides only a single record N of Gib in the last month!
Short-eared Owls also in short supply - presumably weather & food availability favourable for them on the continent.

Regards

Chris

A ringtail hen harrier was reported at Gib this morning and a rough-legged buzzard seen here yesterday afternoon could be a sign of new bird of prey arrivals .

Cheers Kev, just surprised at our lack of Hen Harriers considering birds are being reported in Norfolk in respectable numbers + up to five roosting at Blacktoft during the month. Hopefully as the winter progresses we'll see an increase in sightings.

I saw my first Hen Harrier of the Winter today. A ringtail flying over the A16 between Dalby and Ulceby Cross.
