I finally caught up with this bird today. It has been reported on Birdguides on and off for a few days. After a cold two hours it finally put in an appearance from the metal gate just North of the railway bridge on Carr Lane and flew from a bush over the railway embankment.
Grateful thanks to the local birder who put me onto it. He stopped his car to chat, pointed me in the direction I had been looking for the last two hours and there it was. A nice end of year tick!

Several kestrels and common buzzards around, along with Bullfinch, Mistle Thrush, Fieldfare and Redwing.

Happy New Year everyone.

Spent a couple of hours this morning in the area looking for this bird, especially checking hedges in the fields along the railway, without success.
Did see 4 Buzzard, several Kestrel and a Peregrine.

GGShrike was very elusive today. Seen 3 times very briefly this afternoon on south side of railway bank, 200 metres east of 'Carr Lane bridge'.
(Next to the horse paddock)

Decided to call in at Blyton in the afternoon today, hoping for better views of the resident GGShrike. As it appears to be reported/seen more often PM than AM and showed well yesterday afternoon, again from the steel gate on Carr Lane.
Spent several hours in the sunshine looking around the area in company with many Lincs. birders.
Several Bullfinch, Chaffinch, Yellowhammer, Feildfare & Redwing but no Shrike later, sadly I left.
