Completed a 4th Hen Harrier roost survey (05 01 15) this winter, and did not see a single bird of prey, and have only one record of a roosting HH Having completed the winter roost surveys since 1982/3 this is the poorest year of any for HH and SEO, so far, with only sightings of 1 individual of each species,( on the plus side 2 little owls are resident adjacent to NNR the first for 20 years or more ). Might be because its mild in mainland Europe ??. regards John |
