Large influx of dabbling ducks on the mere with 263 Teal, 69 Gadwall and 11 Shoveler, none of which were present yesterday. All the Teal were thoroughly checked for Green-winged with the usual result! Also 17 Tufted Duck, 9 Pochard and 1 Goldeneye. Very few small birds seen in the strong wind. |

Nearly all the dabbling ducks from 10th had moved on this morning. Only ducks present were 2 Gadwall, c40 Mallard, 16 Pochard & 20 Tufted Duck. Also at the mere were 1 Little Grebe, 1 Water Rail & 1 Kingfisher. |
