Highlights from today; Rough-legged buzzard - saltmarsh Pink-footed goose - 600 in fields on approach to reserve Taiga bean goose - 2 reported with the above Peregrine - 2 (adult male & adult female) Merlin - 2 Hen harrier - at least 3 (two adult males & juvenile) Marsh harrier - at least 3 Water rail - 1 Sanderling - 1 with several hundred dunlin on the wet grassland Ruff - 30 Wigeon - 4000 Golden plover - 2000 Dark-bellied brent goose - 2000 Water pipit - 1 Little owl - 1 Barn owl - 1 Twite - 38 Bullfinch - female Whooper swan - 32 came in to roost at 16:45 Cheers, John |
