I'd be interested to learn the time of sighting of the Black Brant at Horseshoe Point today. The Black Brant showed well with 811 Brent Geese for the WeBS count between Stonebridge and Pye's Hall and was still feeding there when last seen at about 1045. There was no sign of the pale-bellied bird this morning.
Waders that were in good numbers included 245 Redshanks, 620 Lapwings, 600 Dunlin, 210 Sanderlings and 80 Grey Plovers. Also of note was a Common Guillemot which landed on the sea close inshore, 190 Skylarks, 2 Lapland Buntings, 12 Fieldfares, Merlin, Common Buzzard and Marsh Harrier.

I noted the Black Brant on the marsh between Stonebridge and Pyes Hall c8.30am.

Also on the subject of geese, the single Greylag Goose was still remaining loyal to the Icelandic Whooper flock at the southern end of Donna Nook today, having been present for 15 days now. Simply just a local feral bird or maybe not?

Regards

Chris
