Wasn't out as early as planned and had to put up with the heavy breathers!!

Really enjoyed this mornings walk even though I didn't find the Bittern. Early signs of spring with plenty of singing and even the odd display flight.

Visit this morning 08/02/15 was good but I left annoyed (see below)

Highlights were -

Reed Bunting - 2m & 1f
Little Egret - 1
Greylag - 59
Mute Swan - 2 + 6 over
Grey Heron - 2
Tufted - 1m 1f
Bullfinch - 5m 2f
Skylark - 2
Kingfisher - 1
Curlew - 3
Kestrel - 1

Annoyance was that something 'pinged' in the reeds, which sounded very like a Bearded Reedling but couldn't see it. Have to put it down to possible mimicry by a Great Tit.

Regards,
James
