980 Pink-footed Geese in eight skeins flew north in the late morning and early afternoon. The 55 Whooper Swans on the southern fields were driven off by the local farmer and departed to the foreshore. They returned in two flocks later, but were very nervous and only 26 remained when I left the area at 1330. Also of note were 130 Skylarks, 14 Rock Pipits, one Water Pipit, a presumed Scaup X Tufted Duck hybrid, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk and Merlin. |
