Green Woodpeckers last year occupied a nest hole situated some 25 feet from our kitchen window. This is in a willow tree & took some 3 weeks to excavate. Male has been revisiting over the last month and was particularly vocal this week with response from what appeared to be a female calling from a nearby spinney. |
