First trip of the year to Gib Three red throated diver was the highlight. No mergansers, eider or scoter which I was hoping for First knot (only 5) of the year. First two avocet plus a single grey plover were also year ticks Good flock of brent on Croft Marsh but couldn't find the black brant as they were always just too far away |

Hi Chris, I managed to relocate the Black Brant (adult bird) at lunch time - viewed from the office window at Sykes Farm! It was with c.800 Brents on Croft Marsh; just behind Jackson's Marsh. There is also a hybrid Black Brant knocking about with the flock too. I keep hoping to find a Red-breasted Goose in amongst them one day! A good flock of Corn Buntings (40+) in the West Dunes this evening. Cheers, Richard |
