Post subject:  Toft Newton Reservoir

In total, 35 species seen in the one visit, pretty good for a concrete bowl and some surrounding fields / hedgerows! Things seem to be on the move....

Barnacle Geese - 6 (first I've ever seen at the reservoir, on the bank for all the time I was there, then saw them in the air as I drove away)
Whooper Swan - 28 (flew over south to north and two landed on the water for a couple of minutes then carried on their way)
Buzzard - 1
Fieldfare - c20
Redwing - 2
Oystercatcher - 3 (returned a little earlier in March than last year, when they stayed around for the whole summer)
Great Crested Grebe - 18
Gadwall - 17
Goldeneye - 7
Jay - 1
Tree Sparrow - 4
