A seawatch from the Bird club hide in a North Easterly from 10:15am to 4:00pm provided fruitful for my Patchwork challenge list. 1 Great Northern Diver 1 Red-throated Diver 1 Kittiwake 1 Common Scoter 4 Goldeneye 19 Red-breasted Merganser 7 Eider 8 Great Crested Grebe 2 Avocets 1 Merlin 1 Marsh Harrier On the 14/03/2015 (All North) 4 Gannets 3 Red-throated Divers 1 Fulmar Highlights from RSPB Frampton Marsh over the weekend. 75 Whooper Swan 1 Water Pipit 80 Twite (Friday 13th) 83 Avocets 10 Pintail 1 Chiffchaff Still no Wheatears or Sand Martins anywhere in Lincolnshire surely there will be some records this week? I waited in the hide in the hope that more news of the White-tailed Eagle would emerge sadly not until after I left. But if all goes well hopefully the bird will cross the wash early morning. So get yourself down to Mill Hill at Gibraltar Point for first light (the bird has woken up at 6:00AM on both mornings it's been seen.) Good Luck! |

Nice haul Anthony. Might pop to Freiston before work in vain hope. Not much to add to your list today. Twas' pretty quiet in VC. The c75 Whooper Swans were on and off the south of the reserve all day. And a Corn Bunting was reported again from the back of the reedbed. I'm hopeful of Wheatear in the next couple of days too. I think that there were Sand Martins reported at Deeping Lakes earlier in the week, but I've heard of no others in the county, as yet. |
