After checking every possible ouzel spot in vain again I did manage to find a fine male Redstart and two Swifts this afternoon, also 50 Swallows, 18 House Martins, a Yellow Wag but otherwise cold, windy and latterly wet!

Similar day today to a degree, best part of 10 hours on patch, minus a splendid Redstart and early Swift!! Also, many fewer Hirundines. Despite plenty of ideal paddocks and sheep fields, I spent alot of today looking at my local male Blackbirds!

8 House Martins, 7 Sand Martins, 11 Swallows, 2 Yellow Wags and Cuckoo, resident wise, Little Owl was best this morning at Aubourn.

Regards,

Ben.
