At 1205 a Black Kite came into view from the SE and circled over the southern marshes and flashes. Eventually it drew closer and afforded good views as it wheeled over me. Gradually it gained height and drifted northwards, but visibility was poor over the sea and the bird turned, still wheeling, towards the NW. At ca. 1213, it was very high and had become a tiny speck when I lost sight of it.
The dunes were generally quiet today. The first Willow Warbler was present, also 2 Chiffchaffs, plus 4 Swallows heading north. A Water Rail, a Common Buzzard and 11 Twite were also seen.

Looks as if your Black Kite could still be around Steve - one was reported from the Spurn area today.
