At about 10:15 this morning I heard a Cuckoo, 1st of year, calling on my patch. It was some way off so I followed it up and eventually saw it flying low across a field being hotly pursued by 2 Carrion Crows. It flew into a band of silver birch woodland and was not seen or heard again. I only had 2 records of this once common bird on my patch last year. |
