Having just been over to the darkside ( Nottinghamshire ), I returned back to Lincolnshire, to visit my local pits. Good job I did......

Thurlby Pits -

Little Tern 1 - only my 2nd Lincoln Little Tern in 35 years of looking. ( 1st at Whisby )
I think Ben Ward and Mike Welbourne managed to get to the bird, before it circled high and disappeared.
Common Tern 3
Swift 200 - large amounts of Swift everywhere today.
Sand Martin 200+

Apex - Teals Pit -

Osprey 1 - 4.15 over Teals, flew towards Whisby centre, although Grahame H, didn't connect with it...
Dunlin 2 S/p
LRP 2
Nightingale 2
Swift 150+
Common Tern 8

Regards
David

Hi Terry,
Yes all my papers were in order, they even let me out again. No, I didn't go for anything special, just looking at the Trent valley pits. As well as Thurlby, I watch Besthorpe, Collingham and Langford Lowfields ( all Notts ). They are only 12 miles from my back door, and great for waders. Only bird of note today in Notts, was a Hobby over Besthorpe village, plus hundreds of Swift.

Regards

David

Many thanks David, superb work, brilliant. Arrived just in time for very brief views of the Little Tern before it went high up and was lost from sight at 16:34.

With Mick W, Bill and John.

Regards,

Ben.
