Beggar’s belief!!!

I certainly did not imagine that I might enjoy an inland record of Whimbrel this year, 5 separate dates so far at Blackmoor Bridge, all on the ground there as well, unreal!!!

Making one last check of the garden (00:37) after releasing a Hedgehog that was returned to me, that I had passed on to be over-wintered with the wonderful people at the Weirfield-Wildlife Hospital, I went out just now and had a quick last scan of the food I put out especially for said Hog.

I clearly heard Whimbrel contact calls, birds going NNE, certainly more than two individuals.

Regards,

Ben.

Yes, more!

Two Whimbrels dropped in at Blackmoor this afternoon to drink and bathe for 15 minutes or so, before continuing their journey, heading North. Today being the 7th record of Whimbrel at Blackmoor Bridge so far this year.

Regards,

Ben.
