Location: Swanpool, Lincoln
This morning at the mere there were 6 Little Egrets feeding in the centre of the mere, water levels are now quite low enabling them to feed easily, this is the largest number I have ever seen at the mere.
Also seen:-
1 female Tufted Duck with 4 young
3 adult Great Crested Grebes with 2 well grown young
7 adult & 3 juv Common Terns
1 adult & 1 1cy Common Gull
1 Kingfisher
1 Barn Owl by the sluice
1 Hobby

If the levels continue to drop there will soon be mud showing and hopefully we will get some waders dropping in.
