Good numbers of Swallows hawking over the fields where oil-seed rape was being harvested, were then leaving to the south in periodic 'bursts'. A total of ca. 1,000 during the morning, often at great height. Other birds moving south included 25 Common Swifts, an early Grey Wagtail and a Marsh Harrier. Other highlights on the dunes were 6 Kestrels, a Peregrine, 350 Golden Plovers, 2 Willow Warblers and a Wheatear. 14 Gannets flew north at sea and on the shore were 109 Oystercatchers, 27 Whimbrel, 34 Cormorants, 130 Sandwich Terns and 2 Common Terns.
