Feed back on this record...

Hi Andrew, yes the stork was this afternoon 04/08.

Further to Geoff Williams question on the Donna Nook 4/8 thread..

The Read’s island bird’s bill and legs looked pale brownish from a distance although the light was poor but assumed to be a juv. It appeared over the eastern end of the island at about 3.25pm and I got the impression it had come in from the north, it then gained height while being mobbed by avocet and moved off towards South Ferriby and then south towards the Ancholme valley and was lost to sight behind the cement works at 3.35pm. I assumed it was the bird that had been at Spurn in the morning but birdguides has reports for their bird at 3.12pm and 3.58pm so it must be a different bird. The Nottingham bird has a timing of 11.10am so 4 hours to do 60 miles up the Trent with todays SW wind sounds possible. I went down to Horkstow Bridge to see if it would return up the Ancholme but NTR by 6pm then NTR at Far Ings to 9pm.
