Post subject:  Lesser Pecker.

This morning as I was passing the old nest site of a pair of Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers I noticed something in the nest hole. On raising my bins I was amazed to see a juvenile Lesser Pecker looking out of the hole. I had watched this site from 19th March, when I found the male excavating, till the young fledged on 1st June and this is the first time I have seen either young or adults since that date.
Is it known for young to go back to the nest site after fledging?
