A Barred Warbler was a welcome find at the NW corner of the realignment area at 1110. It was in the hawthorn hedge on the landward side of the new sea-bank at TA401003. Other passerine migrants between here and the RAF base included 6 Lesser Whitethroats, 4 Willow Warblers, 2 Reed Warblers, a Pied Flycatcher, a Redstart and 2 Cuckoos.
The WeBS count for the realignment area was disappointing, the best being 116 Redshanks, 8 Greenshanks, 8 Green Sandpipers, 2 Common Sandpipers, a Common Snipe, 5 Ruffs, a Little Ringed Plover, a Marsh Harrier, a Common Buzzard and 6 Yellow Wagtails.

With Chris Atkin, Anthony Bentley and Keith Robinson.
