Walking in Winterton near house this evening when there was a commotion and a female sparrowhawk flew out of the hedge followed by the male. They both headed towards another hawk (turned out to be a juv) calling from an adjacent tree. The female was carrying what looked like a collared dove chick (dropped a part of it in the path as she flew past).

They both landed in the tree where the juv was then flew out again, presumably for another hunt leaving the juv calling still.

Nice to know they have bred successfully in the village.
