Migrants in evidence at the south end included 10 Pied Flycatchers, 9 Willow Warblers, one Chiffchaff, 5 Common Whitethroats, 2 Lesser Whitethroats and singles of Blackcap, Garden Warbler, Reed Warbler, Whinchat and Common Redstart. Also seen were 3 Greenshanks, 4 Green Sandpipers, Hobby, Merlin and 3 Gannets.

Also N of Stonebridge today:

1 Wryneck - having seen a report of a Wryneck at Donna Nook yesterday I was the first birder on site just after first light today and eventually located a Wryneck halfway between Stonebridge & Pyes Hall at approx 07.40am and put the news out via Twitter.
I would later speak to a birder who said he saw a Wryneck yesterday not far from where today's bird was, so presumed to all relate to the same bird.
I saw the bird again in flight at 12pm with two other birders seeing it well at approx 12.30pm.

An impressive flock of 45 Greenshank flew high inland + at least an additional 2 on the realignment.

Saw the wryneck about 13:30 in roughly the same area you describe. Wasn't evident about 15:30 when I return but by this time it was raining
There were a couple of pied flycatchers and a spotted flycatcher in the same area.
I noted a male common redstart a couple of hundred yards further north
At least a dozen willow warbler and a couple of chiffchaff were around the same area. There was also a flyover turtle dove and a sparrow hawk around
Two more pied flycatchers and a common whitethroat were the only birds of note down at Pyes Hall

I wouldn't have noticed the wryneck but as I was watching the second pied fly of the day a dog walker decided to go up in to dunes on a path just in front of the bird. I cursed as it obviously disappeared but soon it had reappeared with the wryneck in the bush just behind it.
