0630 -1130 A walk from Frampton to the mouth of the Witham Greenish Warbler about one third of the way down in bushes in company with (c) 30 Willow warblers and 10+ Chiffchaffs. very noticeable wing bar. Possible immature Aquatic Warbler by first pill box. I only saw the back and underside but got impression of a very pale warbler. Another observer saw the head and description fits Aquatic Warbler but I did not see enough of it to be sure. Also 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 3 Common Whitethroats, all the hirundines, 1 Tree Pipit, (c) 50 Yellow Wagtails, 10+ White Wagtails, 2 Arctic Terns, several Common Terns, 10+ Sandwich Terns, 7 Gannets. On Frampton reserve south scrape juvenile Red-necked Phalarope and 5 Spotted Redshanks. A good morning! Ian |

Forgot to mention 2 Whinchats in the triangular field with water troughs as you leave the reserve for Tabs Head kindly pointed out by 2 birders we met en route. We dipped out on Wheatears and SE Owls also seen that morning. Shame our warblers were not relocated and weather front now arrived. Ian |

Hi Ian Are you sure about the Chiffchaff numbers? We have been getting good counts of Willow Warbler at Gib over the past few days (250+ one day) and apart from the odd local bird I haven't seen a single Chiffchaff. All the best James |

No James, can't be sure of numbers although there were certainly several Chiffchaffs there but I guess out numbered by Willow Warblers 3 to 1. I still have a Chiffchaff in my garden but on Friday 2 Willow Warblers as well. Ian |
