Today at 12 -45 massed numbers of House Martins probably in excess of 250 in the sky all around the main tower of Lincoln Cathedral. This spectacle was visible for 10 minutes before they all dispersed mainly in a southerly direction .

It was good to see large numbers of a bird that is reported to be in decline and rather a startling coincedence on the day that i took delivery of two artificial woodcrete martin boxes for under the eaves at my home .

Peregrines still in attendance judging by the calls at various other times .

Good to see and hear around 15 House Martins still above our Cleethorpes house tonight.
