Kirkby Pits 1115-1200hrs Sept 10th

Popped into the hide this morning with the intention of looking for waders. Whilst there it was raptors that drew the attention. On two occasions the large flocks of Lapwing and Teal were spooked by firstly a Hobby which was soaring over the pit at 1130. Secondly at 1145 an Osprey appeared from the north and briefly overflew the pit. It hung around in the air for about 10 mins soaring over Tumby woods where it was briefly joined by a Sparrowhawk before finally drifting off south towards Coningsby.
