An excellent Visible Migration session this morning from the West Dunes (0730-0930hrs), with the following moving south... Siskin 876 Chaffinch 180 Brambling 32 Goldfinch 96 Greenfinch 17 Redpoll sp. 84 Meadow Pipit 122 Skylark 51 HOUSE MARTIN 1 Whooper Swan 15 south-east (12 adults and 3 juvs) Black-tailed Godwit 27 (in from the north-west high and then flew south-east) KMW covered the East Dunes at the same time and got many more passerines. His totals will be added shortly. Moving south offshore were... Velvet Scoter 1 (per KMW) Black-throated Diver 3 (per KMW) Scaup 2 (per KMW) Long-tailed Duck 1 (per NAL) Around the reserve were... Another 2 House Martin went south together this aft (and another 40+ Siskin), a Green Sand was on the River Steeping, 5 Red-throated Diver on the sea and a male RB Merg south. 2 Corn Bunting around the Visitor centre this morning and another 2 Water Rail on the Mere. A Merlin and Sparrowhawk went south through the East dunes this aft. Regards Nige |
