A good morning on the patch with 51 species recorded (all on BirdTrack), highlights were:-
17 Golden Plover, with 194 Lapwings, on field west of mere (1st record for patch since 2011)
1 Bittern flew across mere and landed in reeds on north side.
1 Cetti's Warbler sang briefly.
1 Kingfisher.
5 Skylarks.
1 Yellowhammer.
Wildfowl on mere were 4 Mute Swans, 208 Gadwall, 2 male Pintail, 5 Teal, 13 Mallard, 12 Shoveler, 10 Pochard & 6 Tufted Duck, also 12 Cormorants.
The Golden Plover was my 120th patch species for the year.
