Seabird Saturday High winds.... Little Auk and Sooty Shearwater recorded off Gib Point this morning. |

Sea Watch from Mill Hill 0800 to 1330 Whooper Swan 4 adults south Shelduck 4S Gadwall 3N Mallard 6N Shoveler 3N Eider 1S Velvet Scoter 1 about Red-breasted Merganser 1M S Red-throated Diver 4 (3 on sea and 1S) Gannet 106 (77N 29S) Great Crested Grebe 1S Great Skua 17 (13S 4N) Guillemot 1N Kittiwake 1517 all S Great Black-backed Gull 34 on beach Goldcrest 1MH Starling 138 in/off Fieldfare 1 in/off Pink-footed Goose 115E Wigeon 34N Teal 142N Pintail 5N (4M 1F) Tufted Duck 1M N Common Scoter 183 (159N 24S) Goldeneye 28N Goosander 3M N Sooty Shearwater 2N together Slavonian Grebe 1 on sea Pomarine Skua 16S Little Auk 11 (5S 6N) Unidentified auk 16 (14N 2S) Herring Gull 158 beach (at least 6 argentatus) Merlin 1 around Waxwing 1 in/off at 1050. Landed in nearby Hawthorn, scoffed 4 berries and resumed inland Blackbird at least 40 roadside between AA and Decoy on way home Regards Nige |

A seawatch from Mablethorpe from 07.00 - 15.30 with Chris Atkin produced: At sea, going north: 8 Little Auk c. 100 Wigeon c. 100 Teal c. 80 Goldeneye 7 Goosander c. 120 Common Scoter 2 Velvet Scoter 1 Brent Goose 1 Guillemot 1 auk sp. At sea, going south: 1 Glaucous Gull 5 Bonxie 7 Pomarine Skua (4 + 3) c. 500 Kittiwake Other: Short-eared Owl in off c. 120 Starling in off 2 Redwing in off 1 Peregrine Regards, Josh |

Saturday 21st I drove down to Huttoft car terrace for an hours sea watching at 3pm. No sooner than I arrived than was subjected to near blizzard conditions! Birds seen include:- RB Merganser Teal Wigeon Dublin Sanderling GBB gull H gull BH gull Common Gull No auks! However I had more luck with Whooper swans:- Family party of 2ad and 3 juvs at Markby Group of 6ad and 5 juvs at Huttoft Bank. |

07:30 - 15:00 Sutton on Sea Highlights; First-winter Grey Phalarope north over the beach early afternoon Little Auk about 15 north and south Red-necked Grebe 1 on sea early am Long-tailed Skua 1 adult south Pomarine Skua 6 south all adults or sub-adults Bonxie 12+ but several skuas on the edge of visibility all south but one north late afternoon Red-breasted Merganser 3 north all drakes Pale-bellied Brent Goose 1 north Goosander 4 north three adult males Glaucous Gull juv south Velvet Scoter 2 Kittiwake 1800+ south and probably a lot more missed well out Guillemot 4 Goldeneye 80 north Short-eared Owl 2 different birds in off At Barton Sunday 22nd Little Auk 1 Common Scoter 32 and 1 Eider 1 female west Goldeneye 51 Goosander 1 drake and 1 female west Pintail 13 west |

Sunday 22nd November LWT Seawatch Anderby Creek (round-round hide) 11.00am - 2.00pm Little Auk - 6 Guillemot - 3 (incl 1 in shallows) Gannet - 3 Cormorant - 2 R B Merganser - 3 R T Diver - 1 G C Grebe - 1 Common Scoter - 16 Velvet Scoter - 2 Goldeneye - 2 Tufted Duck - 2 Eider - 5 Shelduck - 4 Brent Goose - 6 Starling - some 100 in off in various sized flocks Goldcrest 10+ in bushes behind hide and along sea wall Cetti's Warbler - 1 heard singing behind hide |
