1st winter Greater Scaup.

Several Nordic Jackdaws in the pre-roost gathering, one bird showing characteristics of ssp. soemmerringii. (‘Russian Jackdaw’)

Sorry to be a nuisance but can I just clarify the following re soemmerringii Jackdaws before someone else beats me to it.

Soemmerringi is a BBRC taxon and there are currently no accepted records for Britain. This from BBRC’s species information pages.

‘Variation within monedula and intergradation between monedula and soemmerringi make confident id of the latter problematic.’

They then go on the say that acceptance of soemmerringi is unlikely without a ringing recovery.
