At the mere this afternoon:-
4 Mute Swans
1 Greylag Goose
35 Mallard
128 Gadwall
1 drake Pintail
24 Shoveler
20 Teal
15 Pochard
12 Tufted Duck
24 Goosanders (14 drakes)
1 Great Crested grebe (most unusual in winter)
7 Cormorants
1 Water Rail feeding in front of hide at dusk
Fantastic murmuration of 5,000+ Starlings, dropped into reeds at 16:25
