Marston STW - 04/01/2016 - 48 species in 2.5 hours....

Stumbled on Alex & Nargila Lees, who had just found a tristis chiff in the reedbed. I saw the bird on at least three occasions between 14.00 - 14:45hrs, and heard the contact call very well and clearly different from the collybita which was accompanying the bird. Further down the 'long' hedgerow (beyond the footpath and near the gap) were two more calling collybita. Alex got some decent images of the bird.....

If you are interested in seeing the bird, it seemed to favour the reedbed edge between the gate and the big gap in the hedgerow (almost in the same place as last years wintering reed warbler).

Other birds included;

Mute Swan 2
Greylag Goose 41
Gadwall 12
Teal 71
