Trent Port, Marton 9 Jan 2016 10.30-11.45 A very flooded Trent valley this morning produced some good local birds and flock sizes: Raven 1 north @11.00 Willow tit 1 in riverside willows Lapwing c.2000 (mostly on Notts side but took to air over Lincs airspace several times) probably spooked by peregrine. Golden plover 40 Wigeon 240 Mallard 45 Gadwall 12 Teal 35 Shelduck 2 Bullfinch 6 Pied wagtail 20 (feeding along flooded margin) Meadow pipit 3 (feeding with wagtails). Hoping for a water pipit after Dean Nicholson had one at Lea Marsh yesterday, just to the north. Come on Eastleigh (in FA cup today)!! My original home town. Cheers Brian and Josh Hedley |
