WHISBY

Red Breasted Merganser still showing well on West Lake , several displaying Goldeneye ( m and f ) on Coot lake.

Blackmoor Farm - Frozen over - nil

Dunston Fen - 1 Buzzard , 2 Kestrels ( great views and pictures of one with Prey item .)

Wasps nest - 300 + fieldfares with a smattering of redwings

Nocton Fen - 2 Buzzards , large flock of Chaffinches 100 + , 2 Stonechat 90 mute swan and 19 WhooperSwan with 5 of these being juveniles -- Location in rape field behind big grey barn half way down the fen road .

sorry for late post

Nocton Fen Update - afternoon after work

Mute Swans 89 further down the Fen but a wide boom sprayer was in the vicinity and put up two lots of whoopers as follows ;-

7 ( two adults and 5 juvs ) and a group of 20 adults .


There was also another large gathering of all Mutes closer to Bardney bridge 121 in total . The rape fields seem to be the food of choice .

In addition to the above 5 kestrels , 1 buzzard and a little owl in the roofless barn .
