Oystercatcher in field over the road from Norton Disney small pit, presumably the same one.
A few Bramblings mixed in with some Chaffinches down Bassingham fen this afternoon.
Also saw a Cormorant on the working pit which i'm pretty sure was Phalacrocorax Sinensis, not seen one before, how common are they?

Cheers,

Oliver.

Oliver,
P sinensis are becoming more common in the UK and have bred at Inland sites for some time. Their increasing range is the reason they have become a perceived nuisance to Anglers. Ringing recoveries for this sub-species include quite a number from the Low Countries and Germany.

Not uncommon in North Hykeham.

From Garry Barker, ringer at Rutland Water; "The colony at RW is largely, but not exclusively, sinensis".

Ben

A colour-ringed immature Cormorant I observed at Covenham Reservoir on 12/11/15 was confirmed as a sinensis race bird - ringed in the nest at an inland colony in Germany on 15/06/15.

Chris
