Ian Belly has emailed me about a Water Rail in Grimsby.

"Afternoon just to let you or anybody interested the is a water rail on the island of Duke of York gardens Grimsby if you look from the top of james st it been there for a couple of days now"

Perhaps one of the locals could take a look?

Had a look this morning 9 - 10am. Located a very elusive water rail briefly, Gardens side of the island about 10 yards from the bridge onto the island. An interesting hour there also produced:
wrens (4)
greenfinch
long-tailed tits (2)
bullfinches (1m 1f)
chaffinches (3)
common gull
black-headed gulls (30-ish)
moor-hens (2)
mallard (20-ish)

plus lots of rubbish and rats!

Cheers,
Patrick.
